Michael “Miko” Bratland
Graphic Artist / Artistic Director
As a freelance Graphic Designer and Artistic Director at D4GP, I help good people make great things happen. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and a keen eye for marketing and branding help define me as an coveted asset on every endeavour.
Currently I live and work in New York City’s East Village where a small group of steady clients keeps me active. I am always on the hunt for new projects and collaborations.
My freelance design career started more than a decade ago in a small storefront on Bedford Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I quickly built my up clientele and after just 2 years I was able to acquire a much larger design studio nearby. Employees and additional desk-space were added as business flourished. Working for mainly indy music labels, our team was involved in all aspects of branding and marketing. From websites to album art to email campaigns and more. Here I established an officially credited internship program through NYU’s Clive Davis School of Music. Students helped to add social media services for our clients and learned about the business.
My earlier employment included managing Engine Room Audio at it’s original location on Canal Street in Chinatown. A boutique CD duplication house and multi-room production facility, my duties included managing the day-to-day activities, scheduling projects and all customer relations. As the in-house graphic designer, I created artwork for countless album packages during my time here.
I am an avid pianist and DJ and enjoy exploring the world near and far together with my girlfriend Lauren, our son Alden and dog Ella.
